Description
We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Purchaser in the Peterborough area.
In this role, the successful candidate will ensure efficient supply chain operations, delivering high-quality products and services to Manufacturing.
Buyer/Purchaser Duties:
- Source vendors, place orders, and manage service contracts.
- Enter purchase orders and releases into the ERP system.
- Oversee cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain purchase records for documentation and audits.
- Inspect received products for quality, quantity, and specifications.
- Analyze plant supplies for competitive pricing, quality, and availability.
- Resolve receipt and invoice discrepancies.
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Meet with vendors and perform on-site evaluations.
- Collaborate with business systems for smooth BOM transitions.
- Lead continuous improvement projects.
- Support departmental projects and other duties as assigned.
Buyer/Purchaser Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration preferred.
- 2-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably with heavy machinery.
- ERP or similar system experience.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to expedite orders and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
